Our History
Furney's Building Industries is a Family Business that has been located at 122-124 Fitzroy Street since 1987.
Manufacturing and supplying steel building materials to tradies and the general public, owned and operated by Charlie Furney for over 30 years!
Charlie next to his very first roll former, the machine which he used to produce purlins, servicing NSW for many years!
About Charlie
Starting out in Fitzroy Street with only a Roll Former and Folder, manufacturing purlins and producing flashings for local plumbers and builders. Charlie seen the business grow quickly; later employing two additional staff, branching into more sheet metal work. Then going on to design a box span structural beam catering to the outdoor building market, that would later be dubbed ‘Firmlok’.
With this, Charlie’s immense passion for outdoor Home Improvements seen the start of ‘Western Plains Home Improvements’. Manufacturing and installing a wide range of Outdoor Home Improvements, ran alongside the Dubbo Ranbuild Dealership. Mid 2011 we saw the end of Ranbuild, paving the way for the start of Mancaves Sheds and Garages!
In recent years Charlie purchased more infrastructure to manufacture heavier sheet metal.
Some new machinery including a CNC turret punch, a large & small brake press & guillotine, this enabled him to improve his service offer to his many customers in Regional NSW.
Today, Furney's continues to operate, manufacturing and supplying building materials under the supervision of Bella and Shaelee, Charlie's twin daughters.
